While I’m not the biggest fan of washing dishes, I am grateful I don’t have to wash like this:
I have, while camping. Don’t mind it so much then, but not for every day. (Isn’t she beautiful!)

This I do with most pots and pans and sharp knives. Okay, I’ll be honest here, I use the sponge dispenser with soap in it and run the water hot and wash them like that most of the time. 🙂
But I have to say, I love my dishwasher. Yes, me, the woman talking about self-reliance and homesteading loves her dishwasher. I just don’t like unloading it.
Does anyone else think that’s strange? That I’d much rather load the stinky, dirty dishes into the dishwasher, and even wash them by hand, than unload the dishwasher and put the clean dishes away.
Am I the only one with these strange cleaning habits?

Distilled White Vinegar and my trusted brand of Lemon Essential Oils!
Yep, that’s it. Well, you will need dishwasher soap, preferably a pure soap.
Now, how do you use vinegar and lemon essential oil in your machine? you may wonder. All dishwashers have a twist out knob that holds “Jet Dry” and the like. This is where you put the vinegar and 5 drops of Lemon Essential Oil.
I also put in 5 drops in my rinse water when I wash by hand!
